Welcome to the official RUclips channel for Big Cypress National Preserve.
Established in 1974, as America's first national preserve, the site protects over 729,000 acres of a vast freshwater swamp ecosystem, which supports the rich marine estuaries along Florida's southwest coast.
Big Cypress National Preserve contains a mixture of tropical and temperate plant communities that are home to a broad diversity of wildlife, including the elusive Florida panther.

I love Cypress trees have one growing in my back yard.
This Swamp looks wonderful and you gave useful advices. I wear breathable waders in the swamp and use a stick to get out if I get stuck. Thanks Ranger Amy. :)

Stop development on wet lands and surrounding areas of wetlands all the waste from that flows into it.
Nps devastated the area,they killed all the wild hogs and cows in the area,the wild hogs made the panthers thrive,then they released texas cougars in the area a bigger and hungrier cat,the hybrids ate so many of the smaller deer that lived there leaving no food for the real panther,now they moved closer to towns in search of food.they are getting hit by cars and over development.Now there is no florida panther only texas cougars.

the buttress seems to happen at the high water mark at least looking at the stains on the tree, so they usually just form in trees in the water constantly and affected by seasonal flooding
